A not so mad tea party, day date.

Love is in the air. It’s February and that means Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Maybe you have been struck with a little bit of puppy love and want to show that special someone how much you care. Or hey, maybe you just need something to do on Single’s Awareness Day with your best bud, celebrate Galentine’s Day with a group of your closest girly girls or want to share the day with the loves of your life—your children.

Whatever the case is, February 14th should be used as an excuse to whip out your creative skills and spread some love. My pug, Indy recently started hanging out at the dog beach with a Boxer/French Bulldog mix named Bruin. They have been hitting it off so they decided to go on their first date together. These puppy dogs are going to show you how to throw the simplest and most fabulous D.I.Y. Disney–inspired tea party ever. So grab a date and start planning.

Location: Newport Beach Pier Park.

First and foremost, dress to impress. It’s a date, so spruce your outfit up. Indy put on his best bow tie.

Bruin wore her finest set of pearls and glamorous pink tutu.

Set up is key. Make sure to purchase or pick some fresh cut flowers to display as a centerpiece.

Bring your favorite cup! Bruin brought her Minnie Mouse Signature Cup and Saucer. Indy bought his Star Wars’ Kylo Ren mug.

Indulge in some Alice in Wonderland cookies. If you want to show off your baking skills, go right ahead; however, I purchased these adorable heart–shaped sugar cookies from the grocery store. Then, I used purple and pink icing to add phrases. Make them yourself by simply writing “eat me”, “drink me”, “try me”, and “take one” on pre-made cookies.

You can also make your own Mickey Mouse peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Create the shape yourself or use the assistance of this sandwich cutter that is sold exclusively at Disney Parks.

It is a tea party so you will need some tea. This Alice in Wonderland variety pack includes an assortment of different flavors: English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Mad Tea Party, Pomegranate, and French Vanilla.

Make sure you do not forget an infuser teapot and honey to accompany. As you can see, Indy decided to show off his sense of humor by covering the honey’s label with his own Pooh’s honey labeled, “HUNNY”. Good thing Bruin got the joke. She’s obviously a keeper.
