Opa!

Well this certainly isn’t an “oops” of a celebration, but it’s certainly different coming from Disney.

Disney has released more information on another Limited Time Magic promotion that is only to be at Disneyland later this Spring and it revolved around celebrating life around the world! Throughout the year, Disneyland will host a few (limited time-only) celebrations in front of the ‘its a small world’ attraction at Disneyland and the Paradise Garden area in Disney California Adventure centered around different cultures and countries.

The first one, called “Opa! A Celebration of Greece” will be celebrating the people and culture of Greece in an event that will bring together food and entertainment that make Greece unique. Here’s what to expect –

“it’s a small world” Mall

  • Olympics training with Hercules

  • Atmosphere entertainment by “The Citizens of Greece”

  • Live performances from Greek musicians and dancers

  • Special Greek food offerings

Paradise Garden

  • Greek wine tastings

  • Live performances from Greek musicians

  • Kalamatianó line dances

  • Special Greek food offerings

  • Atmosphere entertainment by “The Citizens of Greece”

These events will take place between 10 AM and 6 PM from May 25 to May 27, 2013.

Disney has also released a few images (seen above) and details of the Greek food goodness that will also be served during the celebration which include flatbreads, the classic gyro, and sweets like a delicious honey and walnut cookie called a melomakarona.
