“Inside Out” is the only Disney winner in this year’s Oscars

As was expected, Pixar’s 15th animated film took home Oscar gold at this year’s Academy Awards and it was the only Disney film that won.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens with its five nominations lost every single one of their awards, as did the other Disney nominees Sanjay’s Super Team (Best Animated Short Film) and Cinderella (Outstanding Costume Design).

Even with the snubs, Inside Out‘s win was highly anticipated and satisfying for audiences on social media, especially after Pete Docter’s acceptance speech.

“Anyone out there who’s in junior high, high school, working it out, suffering. There are days you’re gonna feel sad, angry and scared, that’s nothing you can choose,” said Docter. “But you can make stuff, make films, draw, write. It will make a world of difference.”
