Pixar’s “Cars 3” is the ideal movie to get digitally and not on an actual Blu-ray disc

Pixar’s third installment in its “Cars” franchise came out on digital HD format yesterday, and it’s arguably the only way you should care to watch the movie now that it has left theaters.

Critics, including ours, said that it wasn’t best film out of the three, but it did have heart and poignant, funny moments that did make it much better than the “car wreck” that was “Cars 2.” It’s the movie’s average rating that calls for it to only be had digitally since many people who do buy the physical discs are often doing it because the movie was beyond average in their opinion.

Moreover, we find that the bonus features that come with “Cars 3” aren’t as produced and “extra” as one might imagine. Instead, they show some behind-the-scenes footage of the inspiration for the film and storyboard drawings that were put together and labeled “deleted scenes.” Once again, the quality of the extra content wouldn’t warrant anyone to spend additional dollars on a disc.

Still, the film and its content should still garner your attention. The fact that you’ll also get the very cute and heart-warming Pixar short “Lou” should convince you alone! Along with the idea that buying it digitally is cheaper and with Disney’s new Movies Anywhere service so you can access all this content without a Blu-ray player, “Cars 3” can still be a delightful addition to any Disney movie collection.
