Racing To Organize a runDisney Event
Before the runners of any runDisney race take on their magical courses and get their medals, they need to have a race to begin with! With every mile of magic comes a mile of tasks to complete – from designing the course to organizing the characters to greet runners at the finish line. Those tasks are ultimately completed race after race thanks to one of the runDisney event managers who make sure it all comes together before race day.
Being a runDisney Event Manager It’s a year-round job to prepare the races that happen at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts and requires organized planning, confident implementation, and care for the teams that must work together.
This year’s Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend was organized by Shannon Abeyta. Learn more about how she took big steps and lived the fast-paced life over that weekend to ensure every mile was magic for the thousands of runners who participated in the video above.
