Secret SoCal places to indulge in for Star Wars-inspired food and drinks
Close your eyes and imagine being galaxies away from SoCal to the desert planet of Tatooine. You have an Imperial Stout in one hand and you use your chopsabers to pick up a Vader sushi roll. The Bith next to you is enjoying a wookie waffle ice cream dessert. A Rodian raises his glass of Moi Eisley Cantina Honey Sour to cheers you.
Believe it or not, you do not need to lightspeed away to a galaxy far far away to enjoy these delicious food and drinks. This Star Wars foodie is here to open the doors to the top 7 secret Star Wars places to dine at locally in Southern California.
Grab your Ewok girlfriend, Mandalorian boyfriend, or Wookie bestie and jump in your Podracer to indulge in a rebellious adventure.
Pastry Chef Josh Graves presents a limited time off-the-menu dessert tray of Star Wars chocolates. The very detailed chocolates are only here through December! A green lightsaber made of absinthe candy, caramel-filled Vader head, dark chocolate carbonite Han Solo, the most popular white chocolate Millennium Falcon, and more.

For $15, you can use your lightsaber chopsticks to snack on the Star Wars Roll — Spicy tuna, avocado, cream cheese, gobo and jalapeño — deep fried.

Grab a pint and indulge on the Imperial Army…meaning Imperial Stouts of course. Oskar Blues Brewery Ten FIDY, North Coast Brewing Co.’s Old Rasputin, Great Divide Brewing Co.’s Yeti are all available. If you are lucky, they might even be playing Star Wars on their screens or have some Star Wars art displayed.

During San Diego’s Comic Con, I had the pleasure of attending Werewolf’s Star Wars after party. The drink list was the best part of the themed night. If you are nice to the bartenders, I am positive they will make you their popular off-the-menu Stormtrooper cocktail — Black Magic Rum, lime juice, angostura bitters, and ginger beer (which is basically a Dark and Stormy). My favorite of the night was the Moons of Endor — Absolut Pears Vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, and soda water.

The Iron Press is called the “Home of the Wookie”. Unfortunately, you will not find Chewy there, but you will find a scrumptious waffle dessert. A chocolate chip or seasonal cookie and vanilla ice cream with chocolate drizzle.

Amazingly beautiful views and Japanese gardens, this restaurant is the perfect date night for nerd sushi lovers, like myself. The Darth Vader Roll is made with spicy tuna, tobiko, cucumber, avocado, black rice & spicy mayo.
