Soarin’ Around The World comes to Disneyland and Walt Disney World on June 17

Move over, California! Literally.

Soarin’ Over California, the groundbreaking hang gliding attraction that made its debut at Disney California Adventure Park back in 2001, is getting an upgrade that will take guests beyond the U.S. state. The new version of the attraction is called Soarin’ Around The World and will take guests to iconic places, well, around the world.

Your journey will take you over more than a dozen new places like The Great Wall of China, Sydney Harbor, and even the real Matterhorn in Switzerland.

The scenery, smells, and music score aren’t the only things that have been changed. Both attractions at Disney California Adventure Park and EPCOT have received new HD projectors and screens that will immerse guests even more.

Flights will take off from DCA and WDW beginning June 17, but those who will be at the grand opening of Shanghai Disney Resort will be the first guests to soar around when their version of the attraction debuts on June 16.
