‘Star Wars Episode 7’ debut trailer to release in theaters + online on Black Friday

The Dark Side will get its day on Black Friday.

Regal Cinemas, AMC Theaters, Cinemark Theaters, and other theaters operators all announced today that the first trailer for highly anticipated “Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens” will be shown before all of its movies playing at the following locations starting on Friday, November 28 and extend throughout Thanksgiving weekend.

  • Vancouver, Canada: CPX Riverport

  • Denver: AMC Westminster 24

  • Washington: AMC Tysons Corner 16

  • Atlanta: Regal Atlantic Station

  • Chicago: Regal City

  • Boston: AMC Boston Commons 19

  • Detroit: Cinemark Showcase 20

No news on what the trailer will show, although many of our sources have are telling us that the trailer will be about a minute long and consist of quick shots of the film’s main characters. Filming wrapped on the film just a few weeks ago with post-production just beginning, so fans shouldn’t expect too much. It will be, however, the first concrete look at the film which is still a year away.

If you don’t want a break in your Black Friday shopping and don’t watch to watch a movie, we expect that the trailer will be posted online sometime afterwards.

UPDATE: J.J. Abrams has confirmed the 88 second trailer for this Friday!
