Take a Closer Look At Our New Logo!

As some of you have known, we have been looking to find a new visual identity for quite some time now! When creating a new logo for any type of business or event, there’s a lot to consider – who are you, what do you do, how are you doing it. Although we’ve shifted in our visual identity a few times now to help answer those questions, we knew that we could do better.

Because at the heart of it all, we are a lot of things summed up perfectly in our tagline – “Taking a Closer Look at Disney.” We aren’t a fan site, but we’re a news site run by fans. We push ourselves to create great content that spreads the Disney magic even more and the way we do that is by looking.

Sometimes that requires us to look beyond the surface of the Disney magic that we love and if you’ve been with us for some time now, you’d know that peeking behind the curtain can grow your love for Disney even more! But it all starts with being able to look and take in what’s in front of us so we can ultimately share it all with you, our fellow Disney fans.

With all that in mind, we set out to create a logo that would show all that and more once again. After months of searching for the right artist, working with that right artist, and then finalizing the design, we think we finally got it in what you see above.

The magnifying glass, the Mickey Mouse ears they examine, and even the style of the text – all these carefully designed elements individually point to who we are, what we do, and how we go about doing it. Collectively though, it all makes up DisneyExaminer and we hope you see that too every time you take a closer look at our new identity!

Our very special thanks to Tony Sherg who’s know around the Disney universe as the “Disney Minimalist” because of his beautiful yet telling recreations of some Disney Parks attraction posters. He and his work have been featured on Mashable and other prominent publications and we’re honored that he was able to share is talents in creating our new logo!
