The guy who did that fantastic Disneyland time lapse video was hired by Disney.

Back in 2013, a video surfaced on the Internet that was nothing short of magical. As cliché as that sounds, the video was so because it was 1 minute and 30 seconds of pure Disneyland magic. While many videos online of Disneyland are either POV ride videos or funny parodies of the Happiest Place on Earth, this video captured and celebrated the essence of the place.

Time lapse photographer Matt Givot was behind that viral video that took two days of shooting and over 20,000 still images to put together. It all quickly went viral and was seen around the world – including the headquarters of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts in Florida. They then flew out Givot to meet them to discuss doing more of the same videos for their own digital marketing purposes.

It wasn’t until earlier this year that he and Disney were able to come to an agreement to work together. The results of that partnership are a new series of time lapse videos that Givot and his newly expanded team will be creating. The new videos will show off some of the well-seen and unseen magic that happens in and around Disney’s theme parks and resorts.

The first of what Disney is now calling “Hyperlapse” videos just recently debuted and can be seen above. I had the opportunity to connect with Givot just last night at Disneyland where I caught him and his team shooting another video that’ll showcase the holiday atmosphere.

Be sure to check out more videos that Givot has done besides the Disney videos on his website by clicking HERE.
