This is what happens when a Stormtrooper visits the Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Today marks the public opening of Universal Studio Hollywood’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It’s Comcast/NBCUniversal’s first attempt at creating an immersive theme park experience with elaborate buildings and state-of-the-art attractions inspired by J.K. Rowling’s books and films.

Like I mentioned in my story about the land, the Wizarding World is just another iteration of something that began with Disneyland. Disneyland was the first theme park to intentionally create a place that put people into something they saw on TV or the movies.

Looking forward, Disneyland and Walt Disney World will be getting their own Star Wars-themed lands in a few years. And while that may be some time, that didn’t stop a rogue Stromtrooper from peeking at the competition.

We smuggled in TR-8R, the famous Stromtrooper from The Force Awakens, and a stolen helmet from Captain Phasma to the Wizarding World grand opening VIP press event this past Tuesday. The video you see above were the results of our smuggling. As you’d imagine, he didn’t like it.
