Thor: Love and Thunder is another exploration into Thor’s character, says cast and creatives

“Thor: Love and Thunder” is another outing of one of the Avengers, but this time, it’s yet another evolution of Thor that we’ll be meeting.

“I feel like this time around, we’ll be seeing Thor, but a less serious one that’s not bogged down by the seriousness of life after the Avengers,” said Chris Hemsworth in the film’s virtual press conference.

Added Taika Waititi who’s in the director’s chair again, “I remember when doing the other film and finding it very difficult to make him relatable. At his core, Thor is the kind of person who you’d like to be on an adventure with, and Chris [Hemsworth] is already that guy, so we wanted to bring more of Chris into the character for this one.”

Part of how Waititi did that is by letting Chris just be Chris on set with his funny antics and charismatic dialogue. “In the end, we get a relatable Norse god that is funny, and that’s an evolution of Thor that we’d hope to see after the traumatic events of the Infinity Saga,” said Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

Feige also argued that is why these characters deserve getting their own movies, adding that as the actors change and grow, so do the characters. “We decide to make more films about these characters because we’ve seen the actors change over this time, too. Thor [slash] Chris made this film happen.”

Thor: Love and Thunder is now in theaters and will be coming soon to Disney+.
