Winnie-the-Pooh and the Queen celebrate 90 years in a brand new illustrated audio adventure!
2016 marks the year both the Queen of England and Winnie-the-Pooh celebrate 90 years, so Disney has created a special illustrated and audio adventure, available for free for you to enjoy!
Nicole Pearson, Creative Director at Egmont Publishing, speaks on this new project: “We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate The Queen’s birthday in the same year that marks Pooh’s 90th year in Hundred Acre Wood but with this lovely royal adventure. This is a celebration of two very British icons that have been part of our British heritage for 90 years.”
The story follows Pooh Bear and his friends as they travel from the Hundred Acre Wood to London, visiting famous sites and finally meeting the Queen and giving her birthday presents. The illustrations are created in the classic E.G. Shephard style by Mark Burgess, and the audiobook is narrated by Jim Broadbent (Harry Potter series, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe).
It’s not the first time this beloved bear has had ties with the royal family. Young Princess Elizabeth is said to have loved the books, and the 1926 A.A. Milne book “Teddy Bear and the Other Songs from When We Were Very Young” was even dedicated to her, though this is Pooh Bear’s first time actually meeting the Queen.
You can read all about Pooh’s adventures in England in the illustrated audiobook, download the illustrated book, and view the audio/visual version online too!
