You’ll Now Need A FastPass To Watch Fantasmic! At Disneyland

Disneyland’s iconic nighttime spectacular “Fantasmic!” has been a favorite to guests and locals alike for over 20 years. In that time, the show remained so popular that many people would wait and camp out hours early before showtime to get the best spots along the Rivers of America. Beginning in December, that “tradition” will all change in an effort to better maintain the guest traffic and safety.

Beginning December 12, guests looking to watch Fantasmic! will be required to get a FastPass to watch the show. Similar to the current FastPass service used for World of Color at Disney California Adventure Park, guests will need to head near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to obtain a FastPass that will allow them access to a reserved viewing area at a noted time. FastPasses will be available at Disneyland Park opening until one hour before showtime or while supplies last, whichever comes first. There will also be a secondary viewing area for guests without FastPass available on first-come-first-served basis.

The reaction to the new FastPass system has been met with positive and negative criticism, but Disneyland hopes that the new system will better the viewing experience for everyone, especially since they’ll be running the show every night twice a night through the holiday season.

In addition to the FastPasses, Disneyland also announced the new dining packages that will start on December 12 as well. These new dinner and dessert packages will replace the current dessert and VIP seating package that is currently available. Guests will have 3 new options to choose from that all include a FastPass for prime viewing. Click HERE for more information on those packages.

Although the FastPass system starts on December 12, you can begin booking the dining packages starting November 12 and you should as there will be limited availability for them! Reservations can be made either through the Disney Dining website or by calling 714-781-DINE (714-781-3463).
