You’ll “See the Light” if you sail the cruise.
Starting this November, guests aboard the four-night Bahamian Disney Cruise Line sailing will be treated to a world premiere of the next Disney musical!
“Tangled: The Musical” is inspired by the popular animated film and will feature many of the same things including the characters and story that were adapted for the stage.
Elaborate costumes created by Tony Award-winning designer Paloma Young and Master puppet designer Michael Curry (whose extraordinary creations are featured in Disney’s Tony Award-winning musical “The Lion King” on Broadway) have been brought in to bring Rapunzel’s world to life. The beautiful setting of that world will also be recreated by scenic designer Bradley Kaye.
Of course, it wouldn’t be “Tangled” if it weren’t for the memorable music, so you can expect to hear the songs from the film as well. Disney Legend and award-winning composer Alan Menken, along with lyricist Glenn Slater who both wrote the music for the film have joined forces again to write the score for the musical.
Additionally, Menken and Slater have written three new songs that complement the story as its played out on stage.
“Tangled: The Musical” joins the other theatrical productions that can only be found on Disney’s ships. It just goes to show that we can “see the light” no matter where we are in the world.
