Our friends at runDisney have done a great job making exercise an equal part of the Disney magic equation. But we know that running is running. It can be tough, but after taking a look at how Disney puts on marathons, it really put a smile on our face. You have the awesome Disney cast of characters on the sidelines cheering you on AND you get to run through another part of the Disney magic – one of its theme parks!
Each run has its own unique theme that matches that magical motif and one of those runs includes the Tinker Bell Half Marathon. The Marathon’s weekend used to just consist of the Half Marathon and the 5K fun run, but now runDisney organizers have added a 10K run that will add more variety to the choices of runs people can choose from. By offering a run that’s suitable for novices to the experienced runners and now everyone in between with the 10K run, runDisney hopes that both women (and MEN) can make it a point to join in the fun that is a Disney run.
Take a look at the video below for the official announcement:
Registration will begin soon for the Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend. Be sure to sign up for a reminder email when registration does open by clicking here (yes, registrations sell out…which means only one thing. These runs are fun).

We’re going to be testing out that “Disney runs are fun” mentality by running in the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend at the end of August! Yup, pretty much the whole DE staff will be doing some running of some kind. We’ll be sure to update you all on that when we get closer to the event.
In the meantime, have any of you run in a runDisney race before? How did you like it? Did you think it was “fun”? Let everyone know in the comments!
