On March 17-18, there will an event in Downtown Disney celebrating the creativity in the deaf community. “SIGNin’ in the Streets” was designed to bring awareness to the culture and history of sign language through art. At the event will be special signings and special guests present their particular forms of art that celebrate the deaf community.
Some of the announced special guests include:
- Academy Award-winning actress and author Marlee Matlin (also from “Dancing With The Stars” and “The Celebrity Apprentice”) , who will be doing a book signing of her memoir – March 18, from 1:45-2:45 p.m.
- Mary Rappazzo – creator of one of the pictures above that features Mickey and his name in American Sign Language (ASL) – March 17, from 1-3 p.m. and March 18, from 2:30-4 p.m.
*Both events will be held in a specially set up booth across from the ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney.
