Plaza Inn’s and outs

  • by Mike Ayala

It’s not a place where you can sleep, but it is a place where you can sit a while and dine on some delicious foods while at Disneyland! The Plaza Inn right off Main Street USA is probably the best place to get fried chicken and a history lesson. Not only was it Walt Disney’s favorite restaurant, the place offers large portions of their famous fried chicken, pot roast, and more! After you get your food, you’ll make your way into the Victorian-era dining room where you can ask to sit in Walt’s favorite spot there too.

Sound like a place you’d like to be for a bite right about now? No worries, have Steve take you around! Steve Valkenburg, who has been working at Plaza Inn for more than 30 years, gives you a tour of the place in the video above, as well as gives some tidbits of the place too. Everything from the ceiling to the chandeliers are ornately designed to bring out the nostalgic feeling of being at home, which is fundamentally how Walt wants everyone to feel at his park.

Oh, definitely try their strawberry shortcake too!

Have any of you dined at Plaza Inn before? What do you like most about the place? The food? The amazing cast like Steve? Let us know in the comments and do us a favor and try their food and test their service the next time you’re at Disneyland!
