Pop-Up Disney! at Downtown Disney is like those temporary art ‘museums’ for Mickey Mouse fans

Earlier last week, we had the opportunity to visit the newest experience at the Downtown Disney District…that wasn’t a new dining option!

If you haven’t heard, the former ESPN Zone has been transformed into Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration. One can liken it to those temporary art “museums” that people went crazy for a few years ago because of the interactivity of the experience, namely taking photos in front of cleverly designed art pieces so that you can post them to your Instagram account.

Pop-Up Disney! is exactly that kind of experience where guests can take photos in art in multiple rooms, each one themed differently than the next. But subject in all the rooms is all the same, however, and that’s Mickey AND Minnie Mouse fans.

At the end of your visit, you can also stop by the downstairs store where you can commemorate your visit with some branded merch that you can Instagram, too.

It’s what you’d come to expect from experiences like these, which means it’s pretty fun to show your creative side when it comes to taking and posing for photos. The only downside I see is that once you paid your $30+ per ticket and experience it, you won’t be needing to visit again.

That all changes if Disney plans on keeping the Pop-Up Disney! and changing what comes after that. Perhaps we’ll be seeing some Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm Instagram-able, interactive art exhibits coming with the new movies soon?

Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey (and Minnie) Celebration is open daily from 10 AM to 9 PM.
