What we know of “Moana” so far
With the release of Moana a little over 10 months away, here is what we know of the film so far:
Moana, the newest Disney princess, embarks on an adventure with a Demi-God. Move over Mushu, this princess brought in the big guns:

In the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania, Moana, a born navigator, sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore.
2. The Ocean

In the film, the ocean is a sentient character that Moana is introduced to as a child. Maybe this character is related to Olaf… in summer.
3. The Cast
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson stars in the film as the demi-god, Maui, alongside Auli’i Cravalho, a 14-year-old newcomer from Hawaii.
4. The Sneak Peak
Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote the music for the film, shared a sneak peak of Moana.
5. The Princess
Walt Disney Animation Studios shared a clip of when they told Auli’i she would be the newest Disney Princess.
