“Doc McStuffins: The Exhibit” is an all-new, touring museum exhibit by Disney Junior and The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis that teaches young children about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and virtues such as compassion and empathy.
“Doc McStuffins has already made a tremendous impact on how children see themselves and their possibilities by way of our popular TV series,” says Nancy Kanter, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Disney Junior. “We are delighted to now bring the show’s messages of care and compassion directly into communities across the country and we know we are in excellent hands with The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. We look forward to having young visitors experience Doc’s playhouse clinic and toy hospital and learn firsthand about caring for themselves and for others.”
The exhibit is bilingual (Spanish/English) and interactive with immersive activities for children ages 2-7. While wearing a white coat and a stethoscope, children will visit Doc’s backyard playhouse clinic and the McStuffins Toy Hospital E.R., Pet Vet, and Nursery. They will be able to:
- Give toy patients check-ups in the E.R.
- Perform surgery for toys that need bigger fixes on Dragon Bot in the O.R.
- Groom pet toys in the Pet Vet.
- Diagnose pets toys with X-ray scanning machines.
- Rock toy babies to sleep and follow the bedtime routines for the babies in the Nursery.
- View clips of Doc McStuffins at work in the Hospital Training Theater.
However, before they can handle any of Doc’s tools, they have to “scrub in” and learn the importance of good hand hygiene. Indeed, the exhibit heavily focuses on health, well-being, and the importance of nurturing our bodies.
“Doc McStuffins serves as a great role model to children and adults, encouraging them to explore the importance of taking care of their own bodies as well as caring for others,” said Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, president and CEO, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. “Through imaginative play, we hope our visitors will learn more about health, science, and medicine, and discover that children can be anything they want to be when they grow up.”
