My Big, Magical Disney Wedding

A journal entry from a recent bride –

I always knew this day would come, but I never knew it could be this magical. It is my wedding day. I am marrying my prince.

Ever since I was a little girl, I would go to Disneyland with my family and stand directly in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. I would look up and stare for a few minutes. During those few minutes, I admired her perfect castle as I thought about my wedding, my wedding dress, and my prince. But I never could’ve thought that my wedding ceremony would be held right in front of it.

That’s right! My wedding ceremony was held in front of that famous castle at sunrise at the Happiest Place on Earth! I arrived in Cinderella’s Crystal Coach at that very spot feeling like I was seven years old again. My fiancé and I stood together in front of our closest family and friends with perfect greenery surrounding the ceremony, a huge banner behind us with our names printed in gold, and to top it off, there were fanfare trumpeters awaiting our welcome. It was an extravagant environment and true love was in the air. I was ready to accept my fiancé as my husband and express our longing for a bond that would last forever.ceremony castle

And that was it – I was married! My life changed that day and I couldn’t ask for more. But that wasn’t the end of my ‘happily ever after’. That was just the beginning.

I opened the doors to the Grand Ballroom at the Disneyland Hotel just steps away from the ceremony. I walked down the velvet red carpet laid down just for me as I embraced the intricate décor, hundreds of family and friends anxious to welcome me, and my Disney princess inspired wedding dress!

The ballroom was decorated flawlessly with the chiavari chairs, dreamy crystal ball centerpieces, and soft ivory linens. This magnificent ballroom had everything a girl could only dream of: from the sunken dance floor to the royal throne on the stage for the bride and groom. The beautiful stage was covered with roses and candles, and had a starry background. I felt like I was on a midnight stroll under the stars. There were twinkling lights surrounding the room that greatly complimented the grand luxurious chandelier. wedding

I felt like a princess in my long wedding gown and family heirloom jewels. I wasn’t short of a crown that night. My wedding dress was Sleeping Beauty inspired, created by the outrageously talented Alfred Angelo. This dress captured the beauty and essence of my Disney dream wedding.

What made that night the most magical was everyone who was there to celebrate the bond of marriage between me and my husband. The Grand Ballroom at the Disneyland Hotel was able to accommodate my entire family and all of my friends. I had never been shown so much love before.

I woke up the next morning and couldn’t fathom that it was real. I pinched myself just to make sure I wasn’t in fact dreaming. I looked at my ring finger and there I had it; I was married. Disney Fairy Tales Weddings made my dream come true.

My happily ever just begun.
