Guide to what ladies should wear to Dapper Day [DIY Disney Fashion]

Ladies.

Time to bring out those fancy clothes and shoes because another Dapper Day is happening at the Disneyland Resort this Sunday!

If you haven’t been to or have heard of Dapper Day before, read up. If you have heard of it, time to start getting ready for another magical evening.

But before that, the obvious questions is “What should I wear on such an occasion?”

Fear not my fellow fashionistas. Here are a few Disney-inspired Dapper Day outfits that will get you jump n’ jivin’ your way down to the parks again this year.

Dazzlin’ Minnie Mouse

I’ve been inspired by Minnie, yet again! Those retro polka dots and bright cherry red colors are so hard to resist for a day like Dapper Day. The reason why I love vintage women clothing is because of how feminine it is. Young women in the 40s and 50s really loved to show off their curves and shape while still maintaining a sense of conservation. Here are the details to my Minnie inspired outfit:

dapperday-5

  • Fitted black and white polka dotted top with rounded lace collar with pearl details.
  • Cherry Red a-line skirt (knee-length)
  • black closed toe sandal wedges (comfy enough for those long walks around the park!)
  • small black clutch

Radiant Princess Tiana

Princess Tiana breathed vintage. Her style was Classic 1920’s New Orleans and epitomized vintage classic styles. In my outfit, I was inspired by both color and style. Here are the elements to my Tiana inspired outfit:

  • Mustard jersey top with rounded lace collar
  • Dark olive green tweed pencil skirt
  • Brown wingtip Mary Jane heels
  • Brown Leather cross body satchel ( able to wear as a satchel around the body or hold as a handbag)
  • Tan felt cloche hat

Remember folks, it’s one thing to dress fancy and elegant, but complete that great outfit with a smile and confidence in who you are.

When you are at the parks and are dressed in your swankiest outfit, make sure to compliment that outfit with a polite and gracious disposition. Give compliments to those around you who are in their best dressed as well! Why not encourage those around you while your given the chance to? Dapper Day is a chance to enjoy a classy day with friends (and possibly make new ones).

Be stylish and have a Dapper kind of day!
